Rock samples, minerals, historical documents. A new project aims to collect evidence of mining in Mansfeld-Südharz and make it accessible to the public.
Work has begun on setting up a publicly accessible internet portal with an integrated database. The portal will be used for the systematic recording, processing, and presentation of geological materials and objects. These include samples, fracture patterns, drilling records, and modern 2D and 3D visualizations. The aim is to secure this information for the long term and make it accessible to a wide audience.
Participation & Networking
Interested individuals, contemporary witnesses of Mansfeld mining, scientific institutions, and potential cooperation partners are cordially invited to actively participate in the further development of the project. Together, we aim to preserve and document a significant part of regional industrial and mining history and make it accessible to future generations.
